KRISHNA AND THE SAGES VISIT MITHILA

King Bahulashva and the brahmana Shrutadeva lived in the city of Mithila. They were devotees of Lord Krishna and they wanted to go to Dwaraka to see Him. However, they could not go to Dwaraka because they had both taken a vow to stay in Mithila to worship their home Deities. Krishna was pleased with His devotees and because they could not come to Him, He decided to go to them.

Krishna took some sages and travelled to Mithila where He spent several days with the King and the brahmana.

Krishna was as equally pleased by the opulent offerings of the King as He was by the humble offerings of the brahmana.
