Lord Chaitanya Travels to South India

Lord Chaitanya wanted to go to South India to preach to the people there. His devotees did not want to lose the Lord’s association in Jagannatha Puri, but Lord Chaitanya was determined to go. Finally, with the devotees’ permission, the Lord set out, taking one brahmana assistant with Him.

The devotees accompanied the Lord as far as the seaside town of Alalanatha, where they sang and danced until late in the evening.

The following morning, when the Lord set out to begin His preaching adventure, all the devotees fainted. Although He shared their sorrow, Lord Chaitanya continued walking without looking back.
