THE ILLITERATE BRAHMANA

In a temple courtyard in South India, Lord Chaitanya often saw a brahmana studying Bhagavad-gita. Although the brahmana was clearly absorbed in his book, people mocked him and Lord Chaitanya wondered why.

The brahmana explained that he could not read, but was simply studyingthe book on the order of his guru. Pleased with the brahmana’s devotion to his guru, Lord Chaitanya embraced him. Lord Chaitanya also revealed His identity asthe Supreme Personality of Godhead.
